  When it comes to healthcare interior design, patients should come first. The design should not be about what healthcare executives want or how cheap building materials can be. Additionally, it should not be about designing for maximum number of rooms even if that means compensating with small patient rooms.   The atmosphere of a healthcare facility should be patient-driven, and that starts with the interior design. When designing an interior for healthcare spaces, there are a handful of elements to consider, the first being what the facility is used for. For this post we’ll focus on physical therapy healthcare spaces. Physical therapy spaces are unique in that they are all about rejuvenation and a restoration of balance. After someone has a significant surgery, illness, or accident they undergo a stage of healing in the hospital. Once they have recovered to a certain point, they can begin physical therapy which restores them to their former self, prior to their hospital stay. (more…)

People do not want to spend their time in hospitals. Whether it is the patient or the patient’s family, their number one goal is to leave with renewed health. But that doesn’t mean that their stays at the hospital need to be dreary and bleak. Hospitals have taken design to a whole new level that actually promotes patient rejuvenation. Dallas hospitals have discovered that they no longer need to monuments to cold sterile environments that offer little comfort or warmth. Recently, health care interior design has taken a turn to the beautiful and trendy with clean lines and warm colors. Hospital interior design has come a long way in the last ten years or so with special attention being paid to the patients’ mental state as well as function.
